Why great coders get paid far too little

What a great article. I have been thinking about this for a while myself but I was never able to break it down like the author of “Why great coders get paid far too little“.

That is a very good article. Although I can’t be considered a veteran in the industry, I have seen my share of average and below average developers. And I can see how they bring down the pay curve.

The most obvious reason why they may not get paid enough is because most people dont bother to do their homework when pricing their services on the market. People spend more time researching a good deal on a fridge or TV than figuring out what exactly they’re worth and why.
So it’s easy for companies to take advantage of these folks (well it’s not really taking advantage after all, it’s the guy’s fault for being clueless)
